Showers will occur over the Island

The possibility for afternoon thundershowers over the Island, particularly in the Northern, Eastern, North-central and Uva provinces from 23rd September is high. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Western provinces. Several spells of light showers will occur inNorth-western province. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern and Uva provinces after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy falls about 50 mm can be expected at some places in the Central, Eastern and Uva provinces. There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
