Alliance Finance brand ambassadors, badminton star Sachin Dias and promising swimmer Akalanka Peiris have done Sri Lanka proud at recent international meets with Dias being part of the national badminton team that won Sri Lankaâ€™s first medal at the Sudirman Cup held in Malaysia recently.
Team Sri Lanka became Group Three champions beating Slovakia, Lithuania and Switzerland. Dias, who partnered Bhuweneka Goonetilleke in the menâ€™s doubles, was in awesome form. They won their ties, turning it into a memorable tournament for Sri Lanka and finished overall 21st in the rankings.
The sporting career of 23-year-old Dias is being supported by Alliance Finance and he is now one of the countryâ€™s top sportsmen, having taken part in several international meets.
This includes the last Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Sachin counts among his international medals a silver and a bronze from the last South Asian Games and the first ever bronze medal for Sri Lanka from the Youth Olympic Games held in China in 2014.

Some impressive performances in the pool by Akalanka Peiris, the 19-year-old swimming sensation and a brand ambassador of Alliance Finance saw him being adjudged Emerging Sportsman for the years 2016 and 2017 at the Sri Lanka Schools Milo Colors Awards.
Akalanka, who competed at last yearâ€™s Commonwealth and Asian Games, is now the undisputed champion in his age group.
He has participated successfully in foreign meets, winning a gold medal in the100m backstroke at the sixth International Sports Games in Russia.
He also won two silver medals at the fifth Asian School Games.
