Sri Lanka Navy arrests two with 45 kilograms of Kerala cannabis

Jan 16, Colombo: Sri Lankan Navy personnel Monday arrested two individuals transporting 45 kilograms of Kerala cannabis (Kerala Ganja).
Naval personnel attached to SLNS Buwaneka located in Nachchikuda in the North Central Naval Command have arrested the two suspects with the consignement, in the sea area of Erukkulampiddi.
The two suspects were attempting to transfer the stock of cannabis by a traditional boat (Wallam) into the country when they were intercepted by the naval personnel who were on a special dinghy patrol.
The suspects and the stock of cannabis have been handed over to Adampan Police for onward legal action.
