Prime Minister advises police officials on modernizing police force

Jan 13, Colombo: Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe Friday met with the senior police officials of Sri Lanka police and instructed the police heads on how to reform the police force in the future.
During the special meeting held today at the Temple Trees with the Inspector General of Police and all Deputy IGPs, the Premier advising the senior officers of police on reforms emphasized that the training of police officers should be organized according to the modern policing methods.
The Prime Minister stressed on the need to create a people-friendly police force in the future.
Law and Order, Southern Development Minister Sagala Ratnayake, Prison Reforms, Resettlement and Hindu Affairs Minister DS. Swaminathan and Secretary to the Ministry of Law and Order, Southern Development Jagath P. Wijeweera also participated in the meeting.
