ECONOMYNEXT – The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka said it had teamed with the island’s electricity and water utilities to help fix electrical and plumbing faults in building as the island is under curfew to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Ceylon Electricity Board, Lanka Electricity Company Private Limited had which started the service in the Western province in early April said it is now being rolled out in the rest of the island.
“Facilities have been provided to rectify the problems of internal electrical and water services in the households through a hotline service which has already been introduced,” the PUCL said in a statement.
“With the new service, the consumers can seek the assistance of an electrician or a plumber near to consumers’ residential area to sort the issue.”
